Sadly we have had our last home game for the season.
Pioneer decided that they were not up to a semi-final and so have withdrawn and defaulted from the game. This means that our Carterton Premiers are straight into the final of the Hodder-Steffert Cup next week.
Not many teams really want to go back and play in playsoffs for 5th and 6th or a consolation prize but it does give us the opportunity to show once more what we are made of.
When we look at our results for this unusual season with us beating East Coast, Pioneer and Gladstone by quite healthy margins; being beaten by 1 point and 2 points respectively against Marist and Martinborough then resoundingly so by Greytown then that disppointing draw to Eketahuna - it shows that the season has ended where we possibly should be.
We can also tell that with those two close losses we could easily have been up in the top four and that this really has been a very close competition. Oh how different things may have been it were a season of two rounds. Bloody COVID!
Next week's games are to be played with no spectators.
